Quench their thirst Sadaqah Jariyah
A man asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, “The best Sadaqah is giving water to drink.” (Ahmed)
Water is one of the basic needs of survival. People in the third world countries walk up to 5km daily for fresh water. Providing a water well is an excellent form of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) as the donor will be rewarded for as long as the well supplies water.
Pakistan – £80 small tube well
Uganda – £250 repair of a dried water well
Kenya – £280 repair of a dried water well
The construction of a water well can take from 2 to 8 months.
Uganda and Kenya will take less than 8 weeks.
Costs of new water wells in Uganda and Kenya will vary depending on location and depth of water.
Plaque names of up to 30 characters are allowed on the well.
